Music

St Mary Brookfield has always considered music as one of the most important ways we worship God and are proud of our strong musical tradition.

Today, our worship is supported by our professional choir who sing a broad range of music at Sunday Mass and other services throughout the year. The acoustics in St Mary’s particularly lend themselves to choral and chamber music which is why so many choirs, orchestras, and groups use our church for rehearsals and concerts. 

On Sundays, the size of our choir varies depending on the music and the resources available. Most Sundays we will have a full choral mass setting with plainsong chant and motets. The congregation are encouraged to sing as much as possible in the hymns and sung responses.
